Fox Hunt: Three hunters, Keith, N9KH, Ray,
KB9LGS and Mike, KF9NP, showed to track down Larry, WA9FFZ, the
fox. Larry was hidden in the large gravel parking lot
across the alley from the Mitchell Library in Mitchell.
This location proved to cause signal reflections especially as
the hunters closed in on the fox den. Ray, KB9LGS, was the
first to arrive in one hours’ time with a mileage of 11.3 but
Mike, KF9NP, came in one and a half hours with 10.3 miles to
claim the victory. The next fox hunt will be moved to the
fourth weekend in July due to several members of the club
working at the Hoosier 200 Relay which is during the third
weekend. Mike will be the fox and starting time will be
5:30 PM on July 22.
Field
Day: Field Day activities took place near
Golden Corral on June 24-25. It was a success with
participants using several modes of communications to make
contacts. Hal and Rick Davis, among others, provided much
needed technical support during this effort. Ray Robison
displayed his public relations expertise as he explained what we
were doing to the many visitors who dropped by.
Membership
List: One club member expressed he wanted to
see a list of the radio club members and their calls. In
keeping with that request we will finish the newsletter with
that list, up-to-date as of this writing on June 25, 2006.
