We received a call
from a local ham that said he was talking to Norm Taylor who
is setting up a historical dayshow at Murray Forest Park on
August 12th. He said he might be interested in having
a display of old time ham radio, CW with a straight key,
display at this event. If anyone is interested please
contact Keith, N9KH, at 275-3415 as soon as possible.

Two foxhunt temas,
Brandon and Diana, KB9SNP and KB9WRX, and Larry, WA9FFZ,
showed up to niff out the fox. Mike, KF9NP. Mike was
hidden at the end of a gravel road named Mystic Lake Road in
the Lawreceport area. The road ended at the river and
Mike's 2 meter beam was pointed up the river, making for
interesting multipath. Larry was the first one to arrive
1 hour into the hunt and logged 12.5 miles. Brandon and
Diana arrived 15 or so minutes later with 18.2 miles.
Diana commented that they took the scenic route, a phrase all
fox hunters have probably used at one time or antother.
Erratic signal bearings, reflected signals, wrong turns,
backtracking and such spells disaster if one of the hunters
drives almost straght to the fox den, which seems to be the
case for nearly every hunt. Back Yard Burgers was the
gatering place for those involved. Keith, N9KH, and Ann,
K9NOT, joined int he fellowship.
Larry, WA9FFZ,
will be the fox on August 20th. Starting time will be
5:30. A reminder will be sent nearer the time for the
hunt.
