January Foxhunt

(January Foxhunt photos are available here. -TW)

The January 17 hunt began at 3:30 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church with a multitude of hunter present.

The fox was KB9SNO - Landon Key. With Key were his girlfriend, Samantha Godsey, and friend, Matthew Abel, KB9SGM.

Hunters included:

- KC9FHX, Mike Boles

- KF9NP, Mike Wright

- N9KH, Keith Harris

- KB9SNL, Tim Wray, and wife Melissa

- WA9FFZ, Larry Hammersley

- KB1AHR, Ben Hofmann, and wife Karen

- KB9WOF, Christian Schuler.

The Fox Box was located at Ferguson Cemetery, just off Indian Creek road approximately 1.5 miles northeast of Silverville.

Landon hid the box in a tree at the site, causing many hunters to search for it for quite a long period of time on foot in very wet, muddy conditions.

Landon hid at a cemetery a short distance south of the fox site, in a Suzuki Samuari owned by Abel in order to somewhat conceal his identity.

The winner was KB1AHR-Ben Hofmann with 12.2 miles.

2nd - KF9NP - Mike Wright - 12.4 Miles
3rd - KB9SNL - Tim Wray - 17.0 Miles
4th - KB9WOF - Christian Schuler - 18.1 Miles
5th - KC9FHX - Mike Boles - 29.6 Miles

The next Foxhunt was February 21 at 3:30 PM. Ben, KB1AHR, was the fox.
