Newsletter - April 2005
By: Ann Harris,
K9NOT, Secretary
Here is all the news
that is fit to print about the Hoosier Hills Ham Club.
Big news
from the April meeting is:
1. 73 repeater
replacement is on hold until we can gather more information,
hopefully at the May meeting.
2. Technician
license classes will start on June 4th and run thru June 18th.
They will be 4 hours long each day. If you know anyone
who is interested tell them a notice will be in the Times-Mail
in early May. Class size is limited to 12 people.
3. Club work day.
Satruday, April 30th is a club work day. Everyone is
asked to attend to do maintainence and improvements to the
club house and grounds. Starting time is 8 AM and will
last till things get done. There is talk of a picnic for
the workers.
4. The club is
planning to participate in a Special Events Station to be at
the Mitchell Persimmon Festival in September. For more
information contact either Tim, K9US, or Hal, W8AIR.
April's fox hunt was
held on the 16th with Mike, KF9NP, as the fox. Mike
chose as his hiding place the Lake Monroe Dam Overlook.
There were only 3 hunters this month, Larry, WA9FFZ; Brandon,
KB9SNP; and Ray, KB9LGS. Brandon was the winner, getting
there is just about an hour. This will make Brandon the
fox for May's fox hunt. The May fox hunt will be on May
14th at 4:30 PM. This is a weel earlier than normal (
the second Saturday) due to the normal, third Saturday being
Dayton Hamfest weekend. Just in case anyone couldn't
make up their mind on Dayton or the fox hunt. Hope to
see you there.
