The hunt eerily began as Mike Wright, KF9NP, said;
"There is only parking for one vehicle by the box, call
on the 73 and write down your call and mileage."
The hunt concluded with only 3 hunters making it to the fox,
who was hidden on Sowders Land near Leesville.
The box was hidden in a ditch near a big creek, according to
Wray, and Wright was sitting on private property.
On the way down a hill at the finish, Key's vehicle slid
down the hill and into a tree (see attached photo)
"It's really curvy and it was covered in ice, and he
slowed down too hard and bounced off a little tree but kept
going," Wray concluded.
Even with his vehicle misfortune, Key won the hunt with 19.3
miles, Harris finished a close second with 21 miles, and
Wray had 28.
