September 24, 2006 - Mitchell Persimmon Festival Special Event Station K9P

Once again this year, Tim Miller, K9US, and Hal Mandery, W8AIR, have organized the K9P Special Event station for the 60th Annual Mitchell Persimmon Festival. If you're an Amateur Radio Operator and will be in the area, be sure to stop in and make some contacts with us!

The station will be located on Main Street, right in the heart of the festival, in a small trailer that will be well marked with signs. The station will operate each weekday of the festival starting September 25th and running through Friday, September 29th. We will be on the air from about 4:00 PM until around 10:00 PM each evening.

June 18, 2006 - Hoosier Hills Ham Club Field Day Event

The Hoosier Hills Ham Club would like to invite everyone out to our annual Field Day setup. This year, we're going to be set up in the big lawn under the American flag outside of the Golden Corral restaurant, at 16th street and IN-37 on the west side of Bedford. We'll be operating two transceivers, as well as a GOTA ("Get on the air") transceiver for the general public to try their hand at!

Field day is Saturday, June 24th through the next day, Sunday, June 25th. Come on out and support the Hoosier Hills Ham Club at Field Day!

February 11, 2006 - Some more New Site additions

We've just added a new Member Directory. Also, the Sunday night nets have moved back to 9:00 PM on Sundays, like they were in the past.

February 6, 2006 - HUGE Site Additions and Updates

We have added several new photo galleries to the site today, including "Field Day 2005" and "Hoosier Hills Hamfest 2005", as well as some new photo galleries of older photos, some of which pre-date w9qyq.org, including "July 4 2002 Parade Communications" and the 2004 Awards Banquet, as well as a Tailgate Party from 2004. There are more photos coming. If you have any more older photos, any age, let the webmaster, KB9SNL, know at kb9snl@backwoodrealm.com.

I also (finally) updated the "newsletters" section, it only had two newsletters on it since January 2004...now there are 11 total. I believe this to be most all of the newsletters, but if I discover any more of them in my past e-mail, I'll post them asap.

We're also planning to add a membership directory...I'll be giving more info about that at the meeting tomorrow night (2/7/06.)

The Hoosier Hills Ham Club is offering introductory Ham Radio classes! There will be two separate classes, one on Wednesday nights, and one on Thursday nights, starting January 25 and January 26, respectively.

Classes will begin at 6:30PM each night, and run to approximately 8:30. They are being held at the Hoosier Hills Ham Club Clubhouse. Directions and maps to it are located here

For more information, please contact Hal Mandery, W8AIR, at (812)849-9008.

January 14, 2006 - Site Updates under way

The K9P photo gallery, the only thing affected by the recent hosting troubles, has been restored to full operation as of now. All photos are once again viewable.

We're also working on a club history section for w9qyq.org, be looking for that soon as well!

Happy new year to all from the Hoosier Hills Ham Club!

December 23, 2005 - W9QYQ Website troubles resolved

We apologize for the HHHC site being down the last couple of weeks. We had minor hosting issues that have now been resolved. As a result of this problem, some portions of the site may be down still. The site webmaster has had to upload the site from his personal archives. He had to do it via a dial-up, so some portions may not be up at this time. We hope to restore everything to normal ASAP!

Thanks for your patience!

~Tim, KB9SNL, webmaster & the Hoosier Hills Ham Club

October 3, 2005 - 44th annual Hoosier Hills Hamfest

Thanks for making the 2005 Hoosier Hills Hamfest a success! Our club couldn't exist without the support everyone gives us by coming out and tailgating! Hope to see you next year, first full weekend in October!
