September 10, 2005 - K9P, Mitchell Persimmon Festival Special Event Station

The Hoosier Hills Ham Club is proud to present K9P, a special event station for the annual Mitchell Persimmon Festival! K9P will be on the air on several different HF bands in the evenings of the week of Sept 19th. 

Stop by the trailer, near the old bank building in downtown Mitchell, where Hal, W8AIR and Tim, K9US will be most evenings with other local hams demonstrating the many aspects of Amateur Radio to the folks at the Persimmon Festival!

May 5, 2005 -  Technician Licensing Class/Field Day 2005 Information

The Hoosier Hills Ham Club is holding a 3 week Technician Licensing Class on the first three Saturdays in June (June 4th, 11th, and 18th.) There will be a class signup May 14 from 10 AM to Noon at the Hoosier Hills Ham Club (click here for directions.) We will be selling the ARRL Technician Class training book "Now You're Talking" for 25% off the regular price (bringing them down to $15.00.)

The fourth Saturday (June 25) marks our annual observance of the ARRL's Field Day Contest at Murray Forest Park in Bedford (Just behind Stalker Elementary School off west 5th street in Bedford.) The class members will be invited out to participate in Field Day. The first Saturday in July (July 2nd), we will have class members test at the Bloomington ARC's monthly testing session. Field Day 2005 will be held at Murray Forest Park in Bedford again this year as it has been in several of the past few years. Setup will be the Friday before (June 24th) beginning at 1:00 PM. Field Day activities will begin around 11:00 or noon on Saturday June 25th, with stations going on the air at 1:00. Bring your HF antennas, rigs, antenna tuners/testing equipment, etc!
