February 27,
2004 - New webmaster e-mail address, looking for photos for
galleries
The webmaster can
now be contacted at webmaster@w9qyq.org.
We are currently
looking for more photos for the photo galleries. If you have any
photos of club events, either digital or standard, let us know
at webmaster@w9qyq.org.
We can make arrangements to scan standard photos for you if
necessary.
If you choose to
e-mail us photos, be sure to include a brief description of each
one (names, event, etc.)
The January
edition of the newsletter is due out today (2/27/04), and it
will be posted to the site as soon as it is received from the Club
Secretary.
February
22,2004 - Club site now officially online
After three
months of work and research, the Hoosier Hills Ham Club website
is now online in its full entirety at www.w9qyq.org.
E-Mail addresses are still being lined out, so at this time you
may still contact the webmaster at webmaster@backwood-realm.com.
Content being
added to the site soon include photos of club events, Fox Hunt
information, and a downloadable version of the club application.
Please be patient
as we smooth the rough edges of the site. Enjoy!
February 5,
2004 - Feb. meeting postponed 1 week
The Feb. 3rd
meeting has been postponed one week due to driveway conditions
at the club site. The new meeting date is Feb. 10th.
January 17,
2004 - Site Hosting options
Several hosting
options for the club site have been explored, and there are some
good pricing options available out there. Tim Wray, KB9SNL, who
is the site webmaster, will bring a report on several
hosting/domain purchasing options at the Feb. 3 meeting.
There was a great
turnout at the January foxhunt today. See photos and read more
in the Foxhunt section. (coming soon)
January 14,
2004 - Club Site Status
The club site is
still pending its final form, though what you see is most likely
the final form for the site. Research is being done on the most
cost-effective hosting possibility that will fit our needs best.
Current completed
site sections are:
- Club
Directions
- Repeater Info Page
- Ham-Related Links
The Hamfest Info
button is currently linked to the pre-existing domain of
hoosierhillshamfest.org. The "Email Us" button is
linked to webmaster@backwood-realm.com
for the time being. The Area VE Testing button is linked to the
testing info section on the Bloomington amateur radio club's web
site for now. This will probably be changed eventually to a
section including other testing sessions.
The monthly
newsletter will also be posted on this page monthly. Expect to
see the January newsletter soon.
