February 28,
2005 - Indiana QSO Party Announcement
This
announcement received in the club e-mail with a request for
posting on the site. -Webmaster
Please mark
Saturday May 7 on your club's activity calendar, and plan
to make your county very visible in the Indiana QSO Party, 1600
Z -
0400 Z. Tis weekend coincides with the New England QSO Party and
the
MARAC Coutny Hunters CW weekend, so there WILL be lots of
stations
from outside Indiana looking for you. There's a bonus for
working the
Indiana Radio Club Council's Buffalo Stampede station (call
tentatively W9DUU)
In addition to competing for awards, you can also collect
counties for
the Worked All Indiana Award.
Both INQP and the WAI are sponsored by Hoosier DX and Contest
Club.
Rules for INQP are at www.hdxcc.org
Hope to work you on May 7

December 11,
2004 - Elections and 440 Repeater
The club's 444.05
repeater is fully functional now, with an output power of ~30
Watts PEP. The antenna was installed on the main tower at the
same height as the 146.73 repeater's antenna, and so far the
unit seems to have excellent coverage.
Officer elections
were held at the special December meeting last week. Keith
Harris, N9KH continues as president, and Brandon Wires, KB9SNP
continues as treasurer. New officers are Tim Wray, KB9SNL, Vice
President, and Ann Harris, K9NOT, Seceretary.
The club by-laws
have been posted here on the site, and the officer photos are
being updated to reflect changes as well.
October 24,
2004 - Site News
Photos of most of
the club officers were added to the site. At least they'll get
to adorn the site for a couple of months, anyway!
More updates are
on the way, so keep checking back!
October 12,
2004 - 43rd Annual Hoosier Hills Hamfest a Success!
The Hoosier Hills
Ham Club would like to thank those of you who helped make our
Hamfest a success this year by turning out and having fun! The
Annual Hamfest is our biggest source of income for yearly
operation and upkeep of the club and its repeaters, so we truly
appreciate your support this year! We would especially like to
thank the Lawrence Co. Marion Township VFD for their incredible
work making the chili at the chili supper Saturday night, as
well as running an excellent concession stand on Sunday! We
couldn't do it without you guys!
Other news...club
president Keith Harris, N9KH has had complications from his
recent heart attack and underwent emergency surgery this morning
(10/12/04) at Bloomington Hospital. More news will be posted
here on the site regarding his condition as soon as the
webmaster receives it.

- Repeater Emergency Power situation
The 146.730 and
444.050 repeaters were recently placed on a full battery back-up
system recently. This should prevent any further situations like
the one last month where the repeater lost power during a
weather net.
Special thanks
goes to the technical committee for their hard work in
implementing an excellent automatic backup system!
August 1, 2004
- W9QYQ North repeater (145.31) on air again
The technical
committee recently got the 145.31 machine back on the air at the
Bedford Fire Dept. on H street. There are still bugs to be
worked out, but it is operational.
The recent
tailgate party was a great success, thanks to everyone who
participated and donated their time, club members and especially
non-club members! Thanks for your help!
